Four days in Williamsburg, Virginia, takes students from the first permanent English settlement to a working, 18th-century community, to the beauty and culture of Europe. School travel to Williamsburg is rich with American history and popular for modern thrills. Here is a sample itinerary that includes all that and more.
**Day One**
Busch Gardens Europe
Spend the first day at the most beautiful theme park in the world! Each section of the park is a different European country. You’ll face terrifying myths and legends from around the world on coasters like the Griffon and the Loch Ness Monster. You’ll also enjoy food and shopping from the various European cultures. A great dinner choice for groups is Das Festhaust, a restaurant from the Busch Gardens’ version of Germany, including live entertainment.
**Day Two**
Colonial Williamsburg
Step back in time and enjoy the charm, simplicity, and hard work behind an eighteenth-century village – from the businesses to the homes, each component highlighting church, school, community, and family. You’ll enjoy every educational moment here, plus shopping, and dinner in a local tavern.
Ghost Tour
It’s always fun to explore any historical setting with local commentary about the legends and ghost tales that surround the location. Williamsburg is no exception, offering ghost tours as a fun and exciting way to look back.
**Day Three**
Historic Jamestowne
Tour recreations of the Church Tower and the Glasshouse the Jamestown settlers built as they forged their community. Statues of John Smith and Pocahontas stand here as well as the excavation site for the real historic Jamestowne.
Jamestown Settlement
Visit replicas of the ships that brought the Jamestown settlers to their destination. Then learn from costumed interpreters in a recreation of the James Fort and a Powhatan Indian village. An outdoor museum and Riverfront Discovery add to the experience.
Yorktown
Tour the historic battlefield for the last great battle of the American Revolution between George Washington and General Cornwallis. The Victory Center highlights colonial techniques in amputation, dentistry, and more.
Presidents Park
The presidential busts in this park are taller than sixteen feet, standing prominently in the midst of a beautiful Virginia park and landscape. Trivia and historical details accompany the towering figures for each US president.
Riverwalk Landing
A scenic destination along the beach is the perfect place for dinner and shopping.
**Day Four**

It was a mariner’s life for most colonists in Virginia, and this museum educates visitors on that era. Enjoy a boxed lunch here as well.

Discover the variety of waterways in and surrounding Virginia as well as the plants and wildlife that thrive in each watery habitat.
Muscarelle Museum
Students will enjoy the beautiful fine arts displayed in this, the only museum of its kind in the Historic Triangle.
